Nicole Marie Health & Wellness
A whole mind-body approach to health, fitness, nutrition and life!
Hey there, nice to meet ya!
I'm so happy that you've stumbled across my page! Here is my story:
In May of 2011, I was a stay at home mom to my two boys. They were 6 and 2 years old and I was reaching my highest weight of all time. I religiously avoided the scale, so I don't have a 100% accurate "starting weight" although I would imagine that it was nearing 250lbs.
I did get the courage to step on the scale though, when I was a few days into my new fitness journey and it read 243lbs (I had already lost a little bit of water weight/bloat by that time).
That number was a SHOCKER to say the least. But, it just added to my motivation to become my healthiest self.
You know how they say you just wake up one day and you're done. You're over it? That was exactly how I was when I started. I was just tired of being tired and most of all....I was tired of food having control over me. I started to journal A LOT. I picked up a Jillian Michael's dvd from Walmart and also scored a $20 treadmill on craigslist (lol) and I got moving.
I was able to lose about 50lbs just by controlling my binging and doing some exercising. I felt amazing and so healthy and I felt like I was getting some confidence back!
Then, in November of that year, I found out I was pregnant with my daughter and I was actually able to gain a normal amount of weight in that pregnancy. I was even able to keep up some light workouts, even though I wasn't as consistent as I had been (I had MAJOR morning sickness with her!).
After she was born and I was cleared to start working out again, I pulled out my trusty Jillian DVD and got back at it. But, I wasn't losing as much as before and I wasn't having that much of a change that I thought I should be.
Enter Instagram! I knew that I needed to change things up, especially my workouts because my body was just not being challenged enough from doing the SAME workout every single day. So, I started following some really inspirational fit people to motivate myself and maybe get some new ideas.
I saw people doing Beachbody workouts, but at that time, my only knowledge of Beachbody was that it was some crazy workout (I thought it was only ONE workout LOL) lead by boot-camp style instructors. (Don't ask me why I thought this, who really knows, haha!).
Then, I was asked to join a "Challenge Group" on Facebook. I had no clue what that meant, but I DID know that I needed something new and different. So, I just blindly said "ok!" and took that huge leap of faith into the unknown, lol. Turns out, the Challenge Group WAS exactly what I needed. A different style workout to challenge my body (I chose to do 21 Day Fix Extreme), a group of other women going through the same thing as me (SUPPORT!), and GUIDANCE from a coach who could help me navigate these new (but amazing!) waters.
From there, I lost about 15 more pounds and was sharing my journey on my fitness account in Instagram and realized that I was actually inspiring others. The same way I was inspired by watching those other amazing fitness accounts. I knew I wanted to keep helping people and provide them with this life changing world I was now in.
Enter coaching! I made a huge decision to go ALL IN and become a coach myself. And the rest is pretty much history. I am in LOVE with what I do and am now growing my OWN team of inspiring women who share the same goals and visions as me. Not only fitness goals, but business goals too. I am truly finding and building my tribe.
Helping other women and discovering how we can be our healthiest selves are undoubtably my passions. I can't wait to welcome you into this amazing little community of ours!
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the rest of my page!
